Physical computing, sound, wearables and instruments.

Instruments, speakers and sensing — designed and built by hand. One person.

Physical things that use technology to sense what machines usually miss: the feel of a drummer's hands, the species living in a field, the way a room holds sound.

Most of it is self-taught and made end to end — the concept, the CAD, the electronics, the code and the fabrication, in birch, solder and Raspberry Pi. Pieces here have been exhibited at the London Design Festival, shortlisted for the Terra Carta Design Lab, and tested by working musicians.

Research, instruments and sound — from a four-channel system for a 600-person club night to a drone that reads biodiversity from the air.

Selva
airborne eDNA

Selva was a venture I founded to make biodiversity monitoring scalable, using airborne eDNA — collecting biological particles from the air, such as pollen, spores and animal traces, to give precise, actionable insight into ecosystem health.

Panel Speakers
handmade DML

These flat panels are speakers — Distributed-Mode Loudspeakers (DML), where an exciter vibrates the whole panel to radiate sound. I want to see them everywhere: cafés, bars, living rooms, hanging from trees, public spaces.

How might we lock sound sources in 3D space? How might we give each instrument in a song its own tailored speaker?
